What Is Snaptober?
Spooky season is here, and I'm challenging myself to get creative!
If you've heard of Inktober, the October drawing challenge where artists create something based on a prompt every day, you might understand where this idea came from. I've always loved Inktober, but as a photographer, I found that the prompts don't always translate well to photography. So, I decided to create my own version: Snaptober!
I'm a Phoenix, Arizona-based photographer who loves fantasy and creative photography. I wanted to challenge myself to think outside the box, experiment with new ideas, and try photoshoots I might not normally create. Snaptober gives me the perfect excuse to do just that!
The idea is simple: I'll follow a different prompt every day throughout October and turn it into a photograph. Some ideas might involve cosplay, fantasy, or spooky Halloween themes, while others might take me in a completely unexpected direction. That's one of my favorite things about creative photography: taking a simple idea and turning it into a story, bringing a character to life, or creating an entirely different world through a photograph.
