Snaptober Day 5's prompt is Quest.
For this prompt, I'm sharing a photoshoot I did with @sapphirenovacosplay in her Red Sonja cosplay. We took these photos at Dobbins Lookout on South Mountain in Phoenix, Arizona, and the whole set gives me the feeling of stepping straight into a 1980s fantasy movie.
Red Sonja is such a fun character for this kind of concept, and I love how cosplay photography lets us take a character out of their original world and imagine them somewhere new.

Dobbins Lookout on South Mountain was the location for this shoot, giving us a way to hide the desert Phoenix landscape and fall into these fantasy feeling ruins.
I love finding locations that help support the concept of a photoshoot. Sometimes the backdrop is just a pretty place to take pictures, but other times it becomes part of the story we're trying to tell.
For a fantasy cosplay like Red Sonja, the landscape helps create that sense of adventure. Combined with the character-inspired posing and bright daylight, it gave us the opportunity to create a mix of dramatic portraits and wider environmental images.
